This delectable pasta bake is an easy way to get the family to enjoy spinach. Bursting with minerals and vitamins,spinach is a true super-food.
1kg spinach, washed, deveined and chopped
230g Le Gall Cream Cheese
1 teaspoon dried sage
Salt and pepper to taste
500g macaroni or cavatapi pasta, cooked and drained.
Wilt the spinach in a closed pot with boiling water and drain.
Mix with the cheese, 1/2 the butter and season.
Add in the pasta and mix well.
Put into a prepared casserole dish.
Melt remaining butter and mix in the breadcrumbs and sage. Season.
Sprinkle over the top.
Bake at 180* C until golden and bubbly,20-30 mins.
For the carnivores among us, crispy bacon bits can be stirred through,or shredded chicken.
To up the healthy content, some fried mushrooms could also be added.
